OT: Another use for Spot's belt drive

AKA the Gates Carbon drive, I saw this this weekend at the Calfee tent (introduced by Co-Motion last year) at Solvang. Since I was riding a Tandem with my wife this year, it caught my interest. For those that don't know, most tandems have standard multi gearing on the right side of the rear (stoker) crank and there is a chain, called a timing chain connecting the front and rear cranks on the left side. This the perfect setup for a belt drive. Bad news for me it only comes in one size and the distance between my cranks is too short. But still very cool..

Saw this bike at the Co-Motion booth at NAHBS this year. I thought it was pretty cool being a Spot Longboard owner myself. I am hooked on the belt drive!

That's just the non-geared side of a geared tandem.

+1 on the SS tandems being sick!
