    Need a new saddle

    All,
I'm currently riding on an old SDG Ti saddle. It's starting to get tattered around the back. This makes it hard to get back over the back of the seat after a steep down (and this particular thing drives me insane: getting the front of your shorts caught on the back of the seat...makes me f%^&*ing crazy!!!)

I like the droopy nose WTB saddles.

I'm looking for a light, comfortable saddle with a rounded back that is easy to to drop off of, and just as importantly: easy to come back around. I don't need one of those ribbed-for-your-comfort saddles, I stand a lot anyway...and my rides aren't that long.

    What say you?

SS content: this is going on my ENO'd FC Yo Eddy.

    Selle Italia Flite Trans Am

To each his own, but I like a hard, narrow saddle.

I have SI Flite Trans Am saddles on 2 of my 4 bikes (full suspension geary and ti SS). I have a Terry Fly ti on my steel hardtail, and a Specialized BG2 Comp that came on my road bike... still on the fence with that one, since I only have about 60 miles on it so far.

The Flite Trans Ams are getting hard to find. I looked at the Performance Forte saddles, and they actually look pretty good.

I used to swear by SI Flite and Specialized Prolong saddles, but moved to saddles with a relief channel.

I'll chime in on a Brooks.

I just put a Brooks Swift saddle on last week and it's the most comfortable seat. It's a leather saddle with ti rails. Not the lightest thing, but it makes it feel like I have an inch two travel on the back. The seat is suspended between the front and back area so the seat has nice flex and you can adjust the stiffness with a nut at the front. The leather is real slick so it's easy slide on and off. Looks exta cool to boot. Jo Bob says check it out.

WTB Rocket - choose ti or cromo rails ($30 for the cromo one). light either way and way more comfy than any other saddle of that size/weight.

or if you like a little bigger, the WTB Laser.

    wtb rocket v

very easy to get behind on drops, the nose doesn't catch on my baggy-baggy-baggy shorts, and the love channel keeps 'the boys' happy. plus, they look cool and they're less than fitty dolla.

WTB SST .2k ti rail, $30 bucks at Greenfish Sports .com This is the classic drop-nose WTB design with a hidden cootchie-saver section and beefy ti rails. The $30 versions are blems because of a bad dye lot that fade (but not bleed) more quickly than they were supposed to (my .98 is still dark black and in service since '97).

    Like the Brooks...

and have one on my commuter. But, I'm leary about running one on the mtb due to getting it wet and muddy all of the time. I agree that it would look very cool on the Yo, though.

    plastic=WTB leather=Brooks

    I just bought a Brooks. Wallbike.com -6-month return policy!

The Brooks is mainly for my roadie. I like WTB on the offroad stuff.

Who needs frame suspension when you can get a big springy saddle.
