    Misfit DiSSent?

Been looking pretty hard at the Misfit Dissents lately. I currently ride a Surly Karate monkey rigid s/s and it's been a great bike but sometimes I long for a better handling bike with a little less weight. I've heard nothing but good stuff about the Dissent. Any thoughts?

I've had a Dissent since Noveber 08, the only problem was the bolts on the dropouts weren't long enoung and the dropouts slipped. I just switch them out for some longer grade 8 bolts and the problem was solved.

I really like my diSSent. It handles so well, and the option is there to custom build cheap or not cheap. If I had to do it again, I would.

I went from a Karate Monkey to a Misfit and it was nothing short of amazing. Like going from a pickup truck to a sports car.

KM was a cool bike but I always felt way too high on the frame... Misfit is lower, great stability and cornering. Highly recommended. I'm on my second Misfit and the wife just got one this year as well.

I also love my misfit. I would happily buy a titanium version. ;-)

HERE is a brief I wrote for PSYCLELABS that talks about the drop-outs.

There shouldn't be slippage issues if you are using the correct slider and bolts...there was a time back then...when some were shipped with both (forged and cnc).

    Crap:

The forged dropouts also used sad little 5mm bolts.

    Bolts:

    Hope that helps.

Just built up an AL this past July coming off a Monocog. All around improvement and I haven't had any issues with slippy sliders.

Finally bought one. Props to Daniel at Likin Bikin. I called them yesterday morning and asked if they could have it built by the end of the day. They came through and built it from the hubs up and had it ready for me in no time. Talk about service. Anyhow, here are some pics of my new ride!

4 of my friends ride them. 2 still ride them and the other two guys broke them in the first few weeks at the beginning of the summer. Still waiting to be repaired by Missfit.
I am guessing if they ever get them back they might chime in, until then radio silence.
