are the Magura hs22 rim brakes heavy?

I've seen quite a few ppl still using them and they look pretty kool. I just wonder if they are heavy.

Also, does anyone know where to buy a pair of those hs22 anywhere? I've been kinda looking for a pair of red to try out the braking power of them.

You can usually get a good deal on ebay or the Observed Trials forum.

I used these brakes a few years ago on my trials bike, they have a really impressive grip. There are a variety of different pad compounds available, so you can customize their bite. Please note that these are ideally set up on a 4-bolt trials mount, you'll have to use an adapter if you mount them to a canti-post. They are still very effective mounted to cantis.

I don't know what kind of conditions you typically ride in, but if you spend a lot of time in the mud maybe you should go with disc brakes, especially if you have a disc compatible frame. I would only use these for trials, or if I had a canti only frame. They do look cool though.
