    Smile MaFi Components SS chainrings

First a hello, my name is Matt Sanders. I have been on the forum for a few years now, but MaFi Components is brand new. Myself along with Filip Kobylarz have been working the last few months to develop these chainrings to fill the gaps in the market left by certain manufacturers who are no longer a viable option. We have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the initial run of rings. Anyone interested should check it out.

Yes, we have worked it out with our machinist to do very small lots if needed just for this campaign. FWIW, I will be having several m960 rings made for my own use anyway.

Will you have other designs besides that which is shown on the kickstarter page? I would also be interested in 102mm rings.

They look nice. How is the chain line for single speed? Any plans to make them in ti?

    Re: MaFi Components SS chainrings

This will be the only design for our initial launch. The photos shown are first prototypes, and the production units will vary only slightly. 4 bolt rings will be a very clean design. We should be getting our new prototype rings in late this week so I can get a pic up.

Middleburn and other ring types will all be considered after we fulfill all kickstarter orders.

    Re: MaFi Components SS chainrings

All of the rings being offered have zero offset, making them reversible for longevity. Chainlines will all be dependant on the crankset, but they are just fine for single speed. An offset version of the SRAM ring will be considered at a later time.

Thank you very much for the pledge. Once our campaign is successful, we will be sending out survey's asking for the specifics (size, tooth count, color, etc) of whichever gift you have selected.

Ti is a definite possibility. I am not sure if we will be able to offer Ti rings during this kickstarter campaign, but if the demand is strong enough we will have them cut for sure.

Which rings and tooth count would everyone prefer if we were to offer them in Ti?

I would be interested in an SRAM spiderless ring in Ti, 34t.

    Good luck with the project!

Designs have been completed for 1/8" options of all of our rings, but at this time we are trying to keep everything manageable so we are not offering them. I can say we have an excellent relationship with our machinist, so small batches of rings are not out of the question provided the design work has been done.

Thank you everyone for your comments, we will be looking into all of the options that come up here. Communication is a top priority for us through this endeavor. We appreciate the feedback, and will continue to keep everyone as informed as possible.

    Quick update.

Had a conference call with our machinist, and he is putting together a quote for us. There is a very good chance we will incorporate an option for Ti rings into our Kickstarter project.

Thank you all for the feedback so far, and please continue to let us know what you would like to see, or what we can do to make these rings more enticing.

Awesome. I'll wait to see if that happens. If not I'll probably go for the aluminum option.

88bcd (m985) 30T 1/8" would be perfect, if you can do it in ti even better.
