    Smile Kona Humu

I hope this shot posts...I've never tried this before. Does anyone happen to know the model year for this Humu? I've looked all over the archives and the web (including the retro kona site) and I've come across quite a few shots of Humus, but none of them have this particular paint/graphics scheme. This is going to be my first singlespeed! Any help would be appreciated...thanks.

    Thanks

Thanks...I was pretty stoked about the color myself. According to the Kona/dk fan site, the Humu is making a come back in 2005. IMHO, you can never have enough single speed cruisers milling about. Cheers.

good looking frame but what kind of rear brake are you going to run on that, it appears to be set up for a coaster brake

Judging by the Down Tube decal I would say its a

1995. Kona used that lettering style in '94 and '95. Don't see a Humu in the '94 catalog, so my guess is '95. Very cool.

The '95 was the first year they did it, but it was Navy with gold decals according to my brochure, it may be a one off colourway, or maybe its been resprayed?

I used to have a charcol one from about the same era. I converted it to a 29" by moving the brake studs and cutting out hte stay braces. Loved the bike and wish I never sold it....Now I'm on the hunt for another to convert and keep that-a-way. I need a 20" BTW.

Hmmm. Seems an odd one. The downtube and head tube decals look 1994, but the seattube decal possibly looks earlier. The paint job also looks similar to those used in 94.

This is the '95. http://www.kona.dk/bikeindex.php?bikeId=365 First time it appeared in the catalogue. My guess is that is either a 93/94 that wasn't distributed widely or, more likely, it has been resprayed and had a combination of decals applied. I'm not the Kona expert though! Looks good whatever it is.
