    KM Wheelset Help

I picked up a stock 2010 Karate Monkey a while ago and the time to make it my own has arrived. I plan to build the wheelset up for a learning experience (plenty of time on my hands) and need some guidance on selecting the right setup.

I need some help picking out a hub/spokes. I have not been able to reach a decision as most of the reviews for various hubs are positive. I have selected the ZTR Flow 32h, Ardent 2.4 (front/rear) and will probably stick with a new Shimano SS freewheel , 17t. The gearing feels right for the terrain from the factory.

I am 6'4" @ 170lbs and the build is focused upon being able to eat up some of the roots from the trail. I plan to get a Vassago Odis to keep it rigid but a bit more compliant. I don't really care about weight, just out to have a durable ride that doesn't require a ton of maintenance.

Any other information I can provide or do some reading up on let me know.

I doubt you're going to notice much difference between the KM fork and the Odis.

I like Shimano hubs. Relatively inexpensive, reliable and adjustable.

I am looking to build a new wheelset for my Karate Monkey in the near future. I have been deciding between either Paul or White Industries hubs. I like their serviceability and their dependability. WI hubs with a WI freewheel looks like the answer. Not cheap but bombproof!

Both my DT240's and Hope Pro 2's are really easy to maintain. I pull them apart once a year to make sure they are good and clean. Not a hassle with either hub. Both are generally very clean. A few minutes to wipe out old grease and add new and you're back on the trail.
