Jabber and fork steerer tube question.

    Hi,

Have a 18" jabber coming, and I am shopping for a used fork for it. Many used ones have had the steerer tube cut, so am wondering what is the minimum length I will need to have assuming a cane creek c3 style headset? Vassago has 100mm as the head tube length (3.93"). Thanks.

18" Jabber, CK headset, Race Face Deus Stem and one 5mm spacer = 6.75" steerer tube.

I have 16" jabber and came across a deal for a white bros Magic 29 fork for only $100 but it only had a 6.75" steerer. I figured that it would be alright. In the end, it is just long enough. I would prefer 7" and in the future would not buy a fork with less than 7'. I do have spacers but I couldn't tell you their height off hand, but I would like 1/4" more. Unless it is a screaming deal, I would hold out at 7", just in case.
