hey i thought that was my idea... guess its all been done.
the real plus is running ss without having to buy shorty chainring bolts. keeps conversion costs down on cheapie bikes.
That's what noob ss is all about - then it devloves to buying a new frame, SS parts, etc. Even ss specific trails are involved...somehow?
I like SS specific Gomezes and big and little dogs. I am going to show my little dog, Sammy, how to ride either in my ss specific backpack, or in my ss specific pannier, right next to my ss specific tattoo and lube.
I did the exact same thing, only mine was a bit quicker process with a metal blade and my jigsaw. I was thrilled with the outcome b/c the original teeth were in TERRIBLE condition. Sure beats spending a ton on a rock guard or shortys...
i just did an ultralight one over the weekend... i did it using a dremel cutting wheel and grinding wheel... took about 90 minutes, and came out to 36 grams! won't do much as a bash guard, but it guides the chain nicely (it's a 1x9, not a ss)
