Having trouble getting parts for my Woodman SS hub
So my mechanic takes apart my freewheel hub (the sprocket's been jiggling around like it was loose), and tells me the freehub body is shot. He says he's looked in his supply catalogs, and can't find a similar replacement- he says the closest he's seen are 16mm across, not 18mm, like mine that I've shown here (the smaller threaded part in the picture- don't know the name for it).
I've sent an email in to Woodman asking where I might find a replacement FH body, and they have yet to answer.
Any ideas where I might find this part?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Gary

The freehub body for the SS is in stock, if that's what you need.
Item # WN-7999

I saw that- I wonder if I could just replace what I have with that?
Thanks for the help.

I've got a woodman Bill SS hub and I know that it is basically a rebranded Nashbar hub. If you run out of options that may be a direction to go.

It's not really a Nashbar hub either as all of their stuff is rebranded too. The manufacturer is most likely Joytech or Novatec (different divisions of the same company) or by Formula, but they don't sell anything direct to customers

You describe the hub as the SS hub, but your pictures are definitely of the geared freehub body (which you can use for SS too). So based on your pictures you can't use the instock SS freehub body. Unfortunately the one you need is out of stock.
Try taking that f'hub body around to some other shops. I'm specifically thinking a trek dealer with a friendly mechanic. Bontrager used various freehub bodies similar to that on their wheels, and a good mechanic should be able to compare yours to a picture in the trek parts book and maybe you'll be lucky.
The same could also apply to other in house wheel brands. i just have some experience with bontrager a few years back.
Good luck.

Ok, good info. Thanks.
And yes, it's a geared freehub body I have on a SS.
