    Did I just commit a sin...

    ...by putting gears on a surly?




    ran out of spacers for my 9spd hub :-( had to use the next best thing. I am looking for spacers send me a p.m. if you want to get rid of them.

    Not if you're using them as ultra-hip ironic single speed spacers.

    However, I did just put a 2x9 drivetrain on my Karate Monkey :-o AND V-brakes! Oh, the humanity!

    I don't see a derailleur so I think you are good to go! Not going to lie, I probably wouldn't have even thought about using old cogs and would have been bumbed because the bike wasn't working.
