I've been running 175mm cranks for a while now, and I find them too long. I am only 5'3 at most, and according to a great cranklength calculator I found online, I should be using cranks that are closer to 165mm.
I'm wondering, though, if I shouldn't use 170s instead to get more leverage or if i'll then just feel the way I do with my 175s (which is to say I feel like i'm not spinning right).
I think on average, singlespeeders tend to get a little longer cranks, just for the little extra torque they can provide. That being said, why not try both and see which you like better ?

Def go with what feels best. In the final analysis that's all that matters.
I know you're on your way to that via inquiring here, I'm just saying that what feels best is better than a crank length calculator, which is a good starting point.
Regardless of peoples' replies here, perhaps you might find someone with a stash set of each that you could try out. Good luck.
