Chainglider anybody?

Hi!

While browsing the web, I found something that could be interresting.

I'm building a SS with a Redline Monocog Flight 29er frame from the ground up. I got the Shimano "Tendem converted" cranks from Ebay and it comes with a 38T. I'm putting a 20T cog in the back.

Here's the thing. I found this: Hebie 350 Chainglider for hub geared bicycles (self supporting complete chain protection) http://www.hebie.de/html/en/detail_schuetze.php?id=0350

I know it says for internal geared hub but we, SSer, have the same chainring/chain/cog setup minus the geared hub. Ok, have to be 38T in front but 18T to 22T in the back.

Did anybody heared/seen/tried this thing before? Do you think there would be a "drag" because it's "self supported"? It would be nice to have for mud protection on the trails and those quick spin to the corner store without grabing my pants in the chainring.

What do you think?
