    Chain Confuses Me

What chain size do I need for a White Industries chain ring and an Endless Bikes Kickass cog?

This topic confuses me... there's SS, 8, 9, & 10 speed but also 1/8" and 3/32" However, if I look at the manufacture's specs, the widths given are all over the place, e.g., 6.5mm, 6.8mm, 7.1mm 7.4 mm.

If all the above will work, what's ideal?

    I need a beer.

    8-spd, aka 3/32.

the multi speed (8,9,10 speed) are all 3/32"
    usually single speed are 1/8"

just because it's a single speed bike doesnt mean you need a single speed chain. as long as your chainring and cog are 3/32" a decent 8 speed chain works great.

the 1/8" are often found on bmx or fixed gear/track bikes.

The Endless Kickass cog is 1/8 only. I have one.

By the way, it is wearing very, very well for an aluminium cog. I'd happily buy another.

    8 speed is 3/32". 9 & 10 speed are narrower at 11/128".
