    Cannondale SS

Does Cannondale manufacture an SS frame or bike?

I've seen them go used on craigslist and ebay for well over $600... so they are probably a grand or more new...

well I see they have three models and people on the forums posted that they got theirs for around 600 bucks but ill keep looking. Where i live there is a Cannondale dealer so i might go in a see what there price would be. many have complained about the EBB so i gotta do some research on that

Cannondale no longer manufacters the 1FG, but they do still make a single-speed. Their 29er 3 is the single-speed, Lefty-equiped, 29er (which goes for about $1500), and for 2010, they have a SS rigid 29er coming out as well (which if I remember correctly will retail around $800). I've worked at a Cannondale dealer for years, and I've never seen any problems with their SS EBBs but that's not to say it couldn't happen... maybe if you ask Guitar Ted really nicely, he'll post some pictures of the 2010s...

It's a 29er now which is good. And the lefty is awesome but every other part is junk. $1699 MSRP. You'd be better off building up from scratch.

Seeing as the prices are going up again for 2010 ($1700), if you could find one a year or two old for ~1300 or less, you'd be getting a decent deal. It obviously depends on the condition it's in and parts that are on it, but that's just the way things go...

Thanks. There is one locally that has caught my attention.

I would have jumped if the frame was matte black I would have jumped.

However, I have been reading about EBBs and am starting to get worried.

Cannondale has been making a 29'er SS for a few years now, here are pictures of mine from the first year they came out and this year's. For 2010 it looks like they have a newer, less expensive version. Not sure what happened to the higher end ones, maybe they are coming out with it in the Flash frame but not announced yet. I'm having breakfast with the C'dale rep this morning so will try to find out.

The horror stories about the EBBs are really nothing to worry about. They aren't the best out there but they will work fine if you follow the directions/torque specs. Worst case scenerio, you have to spend a hundred bucks on a Bushnell, which fits right in there and has a great design.
