Ardent 2.4 rear tire?
Hi, just wondering what you think about running Ardent 2.4 as a rear tire on my single speed One 9? Anyone doing the same, is it too big? Need some advice please.

Too big for what? To fit? Not sure. It is a 60mm knob to knob tire. How much clearance do you have now?
Ardent has good volume, sidewall protection, rolls well, and is pretty grippy. Down sides are the transitional knobs are a bit vague (more an issue as a front tire) and the weight. I really like mine for a front tire and if i wanted big knobs in the back i would roll it there, too.

Riding 2,4" Ardents front and rear since three years and don't want another tire. Best is a very wide rim (Velocity P35 here) for low pressure riding. Cannot feel the "vague" transitional effect - perhaps because of my low pressure?
Very nice is its wide cornering range - you can feel, when it will losse traction an can adapt your riding style.

Last year, I raced a really rocky, technical 50 miler with 2.4" Ardents front and rear. They held up well, and rolled better than I'd expected. Since then, I've kept the front, but it was overkill for me in the back. Ikon works great for me back there.

The Ardent is my go to rear tire for bigger mountain trips or the more aggressive, technical local trails in my area. It's grippy, durable, and big, and rolls surprisingly well. For smoother, faster, easier trails, I run something lighter smaller and faster (RR2.25). Depending on the trails you ride, some might call it too big, too heavy, or two aggressive, but its not a 1000g DH tire...
