anyone do leadville on a SS? firecracker 50?

anyone do both of these on a SS? I have done the 50 (well one lap, had been riding hard for three days and was just plain tired of riding) Anyway, i am debating on doing leadville singlespeed and need help with gearing. I ride a 29er and ran a 34x20 at the 50. what do you all think for leadville? any help would be much appreciated.

I just did the FC ...

my FC50 write up is here:

    Firecracker 50 Report - WWs 9'er

as for the question have I done both. Not yet. Plan on doing the Leadville Silver Rush in about a week..... but are you talking about the Leadville 100?

I ran a 32/21 at the FC50 on my 29'er. I'd be tempted to run 32/19 for the L100 since it is mostly fire roads and the climbs might not be quite as steep and technical as the FC50.

However, like I said, I have not ridden the L100 yet. Just going by what I've heard.

I plan on racing it with 34x19 (26" wheels), but that ratio might change after I try Sugarloaf and St Kevin's.

A local in my neck of the woods (flatland Michigan) did it last year on 32x18 (26'er) and kicked butt ~ roughly 9'30".

Haven't decided whether to run the Ute (rigid fork and v-brakes) or the PuSS (suspension fork and disks). Decisions...

    See ya there!

thanks alot. i rode 34x20 at the F50 and would have liked to run 32x20. the opening climb and that fire road climb were not that bad. so maybe a 34x20 for leadville? what do you think?
