960 XTR Crank SS conversion help

I've been working on a crank conversion for a pair of the above mentioned cranks. I've already cut and sanded with the cranks. I had been looking at the Homebrewed components site but after reading the review glad I didn't. Anyone have a source for a 32t 102 bcd SS ring? My searching has turned up nothing.

    Any help would be sweet

I checked the link but don't see a store to buy one nor anything regarding a chainring.

Go with the Tomicog. I just got a set of 32 and 34 and am pleased as punch. Email him at the email on his website and he will invoice you for the order. I got mine in 3 or 4 days.

    CHAINRINGS!

Yep, I'm also making chainrings now. 'Stock' sizes are 32t & 34t, in both 102(XTR) and 104 4 bolt patterns. Pricing is $40 each + shipping (~$5).

Can also make custom rings, shoot me an email, we'll see what can be done.

I got the crank cut, shaped and polished though I think more shaping is needed. I'm also going to have it anodized or possibly powder coated.

I also ran a Blackspire until a Boone titanium ring came up on eBay.

As far as how they worked I would say you could not tell the difference. It was more about how they looked

I also ordered up some Halo hubs to build a single speed wheel set. Not much talk about them but for the price I figured why not. Same weight as Chris Kings and way cheaper.

    Anyone have experience with them?

That crank is awesome! Did you do the mods to it or have it done?

Did them myself. Was way less scary than I thought. Used some diminishing grades of steel wool and finished with a soft buffing wheel on a bench grinder and the finest polishing compound I could find to get the high shine. Looks good, doesn't last though... needs re-polishing every now and then. A Wire Wheel on the same bench grinder really helped get the radii around the bolt holes.

How about a spiderless (shimano) ring? I've got the spline pattern drawn up, just having a hard time finding a local supplier that'll cut something other than very mild (AlMg3) aluminum.

I tried Mattias at Experimental Prototype a year ago, he told me it got lost in the mail and he's sadly no longer making rings.
