93' high plains restore AKA medusa

Remember the old schwinn high plains!?! my parents bought me this bike back in 93. It was awesome and I rode the crap out of it. It has been hanging in my sisters garage for several years. I decided to take it back and breath some new life back into it and build it back up as a single speed bike. Some people may think restoring a bike like this is nuts and to just go buy a new bike but for personal reasons I couldn't let it go and thought this may a good op to try out SS. I stole the "theme" of the bike from the car from the movie bellflower.
    Here is the before.

And after a lot of sanding and some fresh paint, new headset and stem.

I didn't like the kore stem on the bike so I swapped it out with the syncros, put some decals on and I'm still working on the new headbadge (I might paint it white to match the rest of the bike. What do you guys think?????

Thanks for checking it out. Waiting on spokes to come in and I will have wheels laced up by next week.

Thanks! It was just some cheap silver pendant I found on eBay for 3.00. Lol. Then I bent it around the the head tube. It's not screwed on yet but it fits pretty snugg.

Thanks icon and unknown!!! spokes still haven't showed up yet but my handlebars and grips did I found pretty good deal on ebay for a used holzfeller HB with a 50mm rise!!! and I really wanted some bmx syle grips but I also wanted lock on grips as well. The ODI ruffians are the only thing I could find and they seem pretty awesome. Anyways. Seapost, saddle, brake levers, pedals and spokes come in this week and thats all the bike shoping I can do untill next payday but outside of tires, bottom bracket and chain, it will be pretty close to done.

1 vote to leave the badge as is. You going with knobbies or a street type cross tire? Edit..duh.. after looking again at the hi rise bars, looks great!

am i completely missing something... but hows does that stem work with those forks? is there some kind of adapter that allows you to use it in place of the quill? or are they new forks with a much longer steerer tube?
