4th Annual Harmonic ConvergenSS, Saturday, March 12th

    Hello all,

You and your friends are invited to a day of fun mountain bike riding on our
local Longview, WA trails at the end of Harmony Road.

mtbr.com review for Stella trails (aka Harmony)

We will be meeting just off of I-5 at exit 36 at 10am Saturday March 12, 2005.
Just go over the bridge and take the Dike Road exit to Gearhart Gardens. Same
place as last year. Then we can caravan to the other side of town to the
    Harmony Trails.

There will be several ride catagories:
Hammer riders: go fast with few stops and few stunts
Sawzall riders: lots of going back and forth but not too fast
    Plumbers: leisurely pace
Drillers: free riders trying to auger into the dirt
Cordless: women only (unless ya get a "special" invite)

We will have a reasonable amount of parking like last year, but carpooling is
    always best.

This is a non-sanctioned, non-insured, ride at your own risk kind of ride.
Everyone is responsible for their own bikes, supplies, water, etc. Implicit
with attendance is your own responsibility. We've never had any problems
before, but I don't want any hassles.

there will be some mid-ride refreshments and an after ride dinner at some local
    eatery/drinkery.

Also, if you can stay overnight we will have a smaller ride the next day at the
OTHER great local trail system, Growlers Gulch.

please e-mail me with your RSVP and if you can stay for dinner.

    seeya and bike ON

So how come my 15 minutes of fame only lasted 30 seconds?!

... and if we just ... Count me in!

It is on the calendar, I'm looking forward to the Plumber ride. My shorts already ride kinda low, so I should be ready for that one. Here's a few shots from last year's extravaganza
    Bob flying off the plank

The amazing Jeff Jones levitating in mid air

    Some nice mud shots

I can't wait to get back to stella again.

Curious aboot whether or not this is intended to be a SS-specific type ride, or are most folks on their gearies? More fun on the Unit or 5 Spot? I can go either way! Parents live in Oly, so it'd be a nice opportunity to get over there for a visit...

I think it was roughly a 50/50 split SS and gearies last year. The Stella trails are tight and twisty, I'd suggest the Unit, but then I'm biased

    SS works great here

gearing choices are the standard 32:18 to 32:20. I'm currently running 32:18, Joel has been running 32:16 as training for Old Pueblo. I've ridden the trails on the fixie on 32:16.

Tight twisty fun, had a great ride yesterday in the heavy frost. mmmm, crunchy frozen leaves and mud.

    hope to see ya soon

So far I don't see anything on the calendar that will keep me away. Can't wait.

I dunno if my New Vulture will be ready by then, but take this as an announcement that I am ordering one!

Bob, ya think I should bring the Big Squish or the rigid MC? I am kind of torn, even if I have not ridden the Coiler yet. It could be a hand full in the tight 'n' twisties of Stella.

BTW Sparty and I are thinking about a follow up ride at WhyPass in late March or April:

bring what ya want, I picked up a Gemini (7" front and back) to replace my jekyll and it is lots of fun on the Stella trails, tho a very different kind of ride from the Vulture.

as for a nother WhyPass ride, the more the merrier!

    I'd like to go

is there room for a slow gal who mostly rides her road bike now but who has a nice Kona fully that is crying to be ridden? I'll bring brownies. Hey, Bob, I tried to email you but your forum profile said no emails allowed. Eek. I'd stay for dinner too, possibly overnight...

Looking forward to finally meeting you. Sue and Carla are leading a gals only ride which won't be too fast. Not that they couldn't bring on some speed, but leading a group on these trails, well, ya just can't go very fast. You are of course welcome to stay overnight, we've got several places for ya to stay, just bring a sleeping bag and pad. We'll sort it out over dinner.

as for my email, I didn't even know it had that capability, I just changed it to do the email thing.

Hey Bob, I just got the following email from COTAmtb.org. It seems oddly familiar. Which one of you two is going to call his lawyer?

stay off the westside trails at this time.

    Hope to see you Sunday.
