now I am running 22 32 42 combined with a 11/34 cassette. on the trails I ride in belgium a single 38 chainring in the font will work fine. will I need a chailgyude to prevent the chain falling off. if yes, what do you suggest? i will keep my 11/36 cassette.

but yes you will want a chain guide, something like the Mrp .X or an E.13 BB mounted device. I doubt you need a full DH style guide, just something over the top like the products I have mentioned.
