    33t x 21t vs. 32t x 20t

    Would I notice much of a difference by switching from a 33 x 21 to a 32 x 20?

So basically, I can save my money and not mess with my gearing. I do not mind that at all, thanks!

I disagree with you guys. 1.57 versus 1.6 ratio. I'll bet you can feel the difference. Will it make a big difference on your ride? Probably not.

yea, it's about 2 teeth in the front vs 1 tooth in the back. Not exactly, but close (although the bigger the cog in the back, the less this is true).

both umarth and sparty were wrong!

Going from 33 to 32 is only one tooth.

Does this mean I keep my streak of always being right alive?

yea, but he's jumping one in the back.
    34-21 is closer to a 32-20 than a 33-21 is.

You yourself said the increase in front teeth nearly cancels the increase in back teeth. And you're right. Net change one chainring tooth -- virtually "nearly" not much.

no i didnt, i was agreeing with bikeny. i said two teeth in the front is about equal to 1 in the rear. (kinda like two in the pink, one in the stink. thats how i remember it!)

He was going from a 32t to a 33t with 1 tooth difference in the rear. A 34t-21 instead of a 33t-21 would be closer to the 32t-20.

Ok, I think we're all square now. I think the initial way you wrote it was a little confusing, but I do absolutely agree with you now.

I punched the numbers before I responded and I still think the OP is not going notice much of a difference.
