    Hello,

I am currently ridding a Trek Fuel EX9 08. I love it but recently falled in love with the idea of building my own a 29er single speed. Anyways, here are the componets I am looking into. Please feel free to recomend me alternative components. Note: not sure about crankset and wheelset selection? I am new to MTB so I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

    Wheelset - ZTR 355 29er (Stan's hubs)
Stem & Seat Post - Thomson Elite
    Fork - Reba SL
    Headset -Cane Creek S-3
Handlebar - Easton EA70 flat bar
    Breaks - Juicy 7
    Crankset - White Industries ENO
Saddle - Selle Italia (Shiver Troy)
    Cog - Niner Cogalicious SS
Tires - Kenda Tomac Small Block Eight 29er DTC Folding Tire
pedals - Crank Brothers Eggbeater C Pedal
    Chain - K710SL-(White or blue)
Grips - Lizard Skins Peaty Lock-On Grips (White)
Tensioner -DMR STS Tension Seeker Single Speed Tensioner

put a more knobby tire up front
a little more rolling resistant but well worth it in traction

You won't need the Chain tensioner ...everything else looks great, Should weight in just under 23lbs.

Niner cog is ok, but folks seem to prefer the CK steel cogs, especially for smaller cogs.
ZTR 355 if for light weights, racers, very smooth trails, or high-finesse riders. You might look at the Arches if this isn't you.
I don't think Stan's makes hubs. Look at Hope, CK, I-9, etc., and decide on single-speed specific vs. geared hub (rear).
Maybe a carbon or titanium post for some relief to your body?
The new Avid Elixir brakes seem to be being received well.
Search on 1/8" chains versus 3/32".
    Silver. Definitely Silver.
    ride natty ride
