Hi everyone,
My rear Avid Elixir 3s have always given me rubbing issues. I brought it to LBS and they seemed to have fixed it, but after a few hrs of riding, it came back again.
The rear brake pads are rubbing against the brake rotors because there's not enough clearance. I loosened the caliper and engaged the brake, let go, and spin my wheels. That seems to allow the caliper to realign itself, and solves most of the rubbing issues. The rest of the rubbing noise is coming from rotor not being straight.
So I tighten my caliper bolts slowly. And that seems to solve the issue.
However, after an hr of riding, they start rubbing again. I tightened the bolts enough already. Should i tighten it more? I have to do this every single time, which I don't think is normal...
I heard Elixir 3's suck because there's not enough clearance b/t pads and rotors...
