I have rebuilt an old 2000 Zaskar X frame that originally came with an adjustable travel Rockshox Judy with a 80-100mm range.
I used a new Rockshox SID and replaced the stock 100mm travel kit with an 80mm one figuring factory spec fork travel is like the Zaskar LE which its pretty much identical to build wise.
I'm starting to second guess that now though after seeing this:
Seems the geometry is ever so slightly different between the 2. The Zaskar X came with riser bars where the LE came with Flat, but I'm kind of doubting that decision was enough to warrant a different build geometry.
What fork travel do you think this frame was based on? 80mm? 100mm? somewhere in between to allow 80-100mm variability without seriously disrupting the geomitry? I still have the 100mm kit so I'm trying to decide if I should place that back in on next service.
Thanks!
