Hi all,
This is my first post. I've been lurking here for a while and out of all of the MTB forums around, this seems to be the best. I am the proud owner of a used 2009 Rocky Mountain Vertex 50 that I have been thoroughly enjoying as of late. I used to be into dirt jumping some 10 years from now but after a few broken ribs, I lost confidence and I got rid of the bike. Now, back in the saddle I am loving the local XC/All mountain offerings. Previous and original owner had only put 500km on the bike.
Here is the ride:

The issue in specific is the rear Mavic CrossRide hub. I have done alot of reading on the issues involving this entry level mavic offering, but I am not in a budget position to scrap them for a brand new set. I have noticed binding every 360 degrees in one location, only when the hub is in the frame, tightened with the QR.
I have taken the hub apart, replaced the bushing with the Hubdoctor kit, as well as the pawls and the bearing. Reassembled with mineral oil.
Please see these pictures - as there is some wear on the "nose" of the hub.
See video number 1 - freehub spins freely on axle. No binding.
See video number 2 - cassette on freehub spins freely.
See video number 3 - wheel in frame with QR. Notice the slight cassette wobble every 360 degrees, and that the grinding/binding worsens depending on location of the pedals within the rotation.
Does not change much with running the axle nuts loose or tight.
The axle appears to be straight. The QR is straight, and this has been double checked with another that works just fine in another wheel.
Any help is greatly appreciated... I'd love to pick up a Mavic Crossride hub to replace this one, however they are not available to buy on their own. The other issue being that its a 24 hole hub/wheel.
Cheers,
Dave
