Btm industries? totally forget the name but its something along those lines. They build a very burly hardtail. Fairly custom shop though so a little pricey, but I'm sure you can get what you need. Not sure exactly how they stack up pricewise against your current options though.
Strip the parts off and sell 'em, commence with whatever parts you have. Straight 1.5" headtube to get you started, ISCG 05 mounts for a chainguide. I had one built with a 150mm Sektor, 1x9 with Flow wheels that was 30lbs on the nose. Super fun bike to ride, pedaled really well too.
I see tht but what about this?....
- fits forks with standard 1-1/8" steertubes
* forks with taper 1.5 - 1-1/8" steertubes can fit ZS44/44 headtube using special headsets with external lower cup (FSA Orbit ITA-A, ITA-B, Cane Creek XX44)
Yea the eccentric is a nice option as well but I think its the same as the surge with the fork compatibility
Fits all forks with standard 1-1/8" steertubes (forks with taper 1.5 - 1-1/8" steertubes can fit ZS44/44 headtube using special headsets with external lower cup (FSA Orbit ITA-A, ITA-B, Cane Creek XX44)
You can get a headset for cheaper than that which will do fine. This FSA one will be alright. Besides buying a Chris King for $150-$200, that might be your only option besides waiting on Chain Reaction. Put a "looking for" ad up on Pinkbike.
Not sure if you have decided yet, but I love my Cotic BFe. I just put a dropper post on mine tonight and can't wait to go ride it. You definitely can't go wrong there.
Does Cotic still have their original model BFe on blowout? That is the model I have and it is great.
