As a DH'er I'd hate to have World Trail up there. I really don't like their work. There are a couple of DH tracks up there at the moment, and whilst they are not exactly legal, they are some of the best in the state. If WT think they can ride that coat tail and put their own spin on it, they better pull their finger out. This is loved area that is NOT a zone for WT to make a quick buck.
Now that is off my chest, if they plan on building some AM/XC trails/loops, then that's great. I support that. I agree that you can never have too many places to ride.
Unfortunately loosing great old tracks which people love is a common theme these days. They usually don't meet the IMBA guidelines which most land owners want to see, so out with the old and in with the new. If any work happens there weather it be XC/AM/DH I would guess that any existing trails which are deemed "not sustainable" will be closed.
Go out there and ride and make the most of it!! Unfortunately you have to look at the big picture which may mean loosing some trails.
