It's been too long since we've had one. I've almost forgotten what it's like to be slapped on the back.
I'm thinking Buxton and Lake Mountain with a stopoff at Marysville at some point.
There should be some opportunities for some epic wilderness shots at Lake Mountain which will be in keeping with the high standard of the Australia/New Zealand/Canberra forum.
I'm suggesting meet at the Healsville 'Beechworth Bakery' at 8am and drive from there.
We will probably do something similar on the Sunday as I am baking Monday night and will need my rest on Monday. Get up there and ride Lake Mountain while you can as the trails may not be there for ever or so I've heard.

The ride is a goer from my end. 3 of us will be going but won't have any room available for extras.
Let me know by tonight if you are coming. Meet at Healsville as planned.
I have heard that Lake Mtn management are not feeling that they are getting the payback on the trails and they may be abandoned as will any further extension
Hud, talking to a friend who works there the story was that they (new management) didn't see a future for mountainbiking but I spoke to him yesterday and apparently management has been talking differently since the Granite Grind.
Jem and I had a fantastic ride at Buxton on Sunday they have a lot of new stuff opened out there.

Like all these things, they need to get out and promote the area. I know Buller sent people to various mtb shows and events to promote the area. I really haven't seen anything pushing Lake Mtn. I'm sure that once it gets out, particularly given the state of Lysty and the Youies at the moment, that Lake Mtn could become a good alternative as its still within reasonable striking distance of Melbourne particularly if you live Eastern and Northern suburbs!
I was out there last weekend. We rode a couple of laps of granite grind trail, it's awesome. Flows really well the whole way around. A word of advice, either go in the afternoon to give others the chance to clear the trail of orb spiders (there's loads of them), or do what I did and take your wife to ride point on the first lap!

Remind me to ALWAYS follow you down a singletrack then!! Bet your wife is happy as about that little arrangement. Luckily she doesn't read these forums or does she then
