I'm looking for a good PT bike. 21.5 top tube length (small for Kona, Black Market, etc). Gotta be a good parts kit. Ideally, something that someone decided didn't fit them or just wasn't their thing. I know how hard some guys ride, so anything old or beat up, or low end parts, not interested. I don't have any parts, so not interested in a frame-only.
I'll buy a higher-end new one if nothing comes through, but wanted to tap the used market first. the CL adds i saw didn't give sizes, so not worth dealing with them.

Keep your eyes open on Chainlove They been having a few on there and the Rocky Mountain that keeps popping up would be a sweet ride. The Geo on is spot on and the parts are right in the middle. Oh and it usually gets priced in the $350-$450 range. Saw it last night matter of fact. Good luck!!!
Your best selection for used is pinkbike. There are 300 bikes in the US DJ section right now. Some good deal there- like a Transition ToP for $550.
For new jensonusa has a few good deals right now.
@doodoo - yes, i know the one - i would be all over it, but i think it will be big as the TT is 22.5 or larger. Jenson had the '09 M for $650, but also too big.
@JM - thanks i did check pinkbike, but since i don't know too much about PT bikes, and know they get crashed a lot, I want to see it and sit on it before I buy.
thanks both of you for the suggestions. Rage has a Black Market Malice that is my size and a beauty, but $1300. might go that route yet...the bike is awesome, love the shop, love that the shop got me into PTing, just a bit more than i thought about spending.

Did you feel ok when you rode my Hero at the PT at rage? Cause that has an actual 22 in TT/ 22.6 effective TT with a 50mm stem and 29" inch handlebar. If you didn't feel streched out on that, then you should be ok on a 22.5 inch TT with regular bars. Hope this helps!

thanks man, but to be honest the first few times i was on the track I was focused on not running into the wall or eating s**t. the only thing i could really tell was some bikes were definitely too big. yours was in range since we're close in size, but just too many new things at once to have gotten a better impression, yknow? pt bike still feels so weird to me... i sat on a couple bikes and took a few measurements yesterday that helped a lot.
thanks Chris. we synched up, unfortunately (for both of us) i'm looking for SS on this, it did sound like a nice bike.
my neighborhood has 2-3 inch rolled gutters, instead of curbs. rolling home last night, i was doing little carves off the gutters, and then in the street for comparison. and damn if i couldnt turn harder and faster off the gutters! it was fun to take something so small and play with the effects it had on my ride. definitely addicted! hoping to get out this weekend to test ride a few bikes.
I'm a big fan of my PT bike for playing in the streets while my boy practices his skillz...I get to pump turns and practice my manuals and bunny hops. Just don't slip a pedal like I did and now have shredded shins because I didn't wear my 5.10's while playing

me WANT!!!! stoopid mo-nay.
EDIT: GFD!!!! the RM flow dj is up on chainlove now!!! i am too g***d**n short!!!! i promise all of you i woulda pulled the trigger and put a merciful end to this thread!!
I have 2009 Eastern Thunderbird if you want to check it out. It's a little too small for me. I bought Slowbutsure's Haro Steel Reserve 8 last night. I'm planning on going to McPump tomorrow morning around 9. Not really looking to sell it, but could be...
thanks guys for the suggestions, glad to see SlowButSure found a buyer.
I've got my ride picked out, been busy with travel and work and securing a tenant for my rental house - that last part was my milestone before dropping the cash. Was planning to buy it last Sunday but the kids wanted to swim instead of ride bikes.
