Mine arrived @ 5:30pm Friday . Had dinner put it together. 27lbs . fine tune and ride tomorrow.
Looks great, feels like a tank compared to my Air 9 single speed with carbon fork 18lbs
Will post pictures etc tomorrow.
I live in Los Angeles where the boat landed.
Haha, I fear the way I'll feel about the weight as well. I was kind of afraid that it would feel heavy after blasting around on my singlespeed Air9 (AMAZING bike)... So now I will have a race bike that is 22 lbs (Air9), and a full suspension race bike probably around 28 lbs... I knew getting the Air was a wonderful mistake! Anyone want to trade a Jet for a Rip haha! Either way I'm pumped to be getting the Jet back, and it just may have to sleep next to the bed the first couple nights after so many nights of wishing it were here!
Lets see some pics of it before and after it hits the dirt
It rides like its 27lbs. Its a tough transition from Fully rigid 18lb Air 9 single speed. Climbing is a different world. Started off in pro pedal 2 . Felt like I had a flat tire, very cushy / plush. Locked it out felt much stiffer more the way I like it.
Downhill is a whole new world, almost crashed a couple of times the bike gives you so much confidence. Its fast and very stable even with the non tapered Fox fork.
Will be racing the Air9 extra 9lbs of the jet is a lot to lug up hills for the longer races I do.
Not sure I could make the jet lighter unless I went 1x9 . But would I even lose a pound if I did that ??. lighter tires maybe. I am already tubeless with fairly light rims and DT 240 hubs. Could get lighter grips. Probably should just ride it as is.
lefty sl will reduce 1lbs. (project 321 got tapered adapters), 1x9 another lbs..
some tune parts will easily save you another 2 lbs. (70g skewers, 20g seat clamp, 150g hubs, 100g additionally with aerolite spokes but not sure what you got now, 150g cranks, 250g seat / post etc.) costly though. bonty xxl foam grips are nice and can save you another 80g. just check www.tune.de, there is a english bottom.
and 1/2 lbs with a formula r1.
should get you to 22.5lbs. (and clean up your bank account a little).

Yeah, I've been wondering about the transition back to the Jet also as I've been loving every second onboard my SS Rigid Air 9. I had my size large Jet at 26.5lbs last season but thinking I'm going to be over 27lbs on the new Jet (20mm fork and King Hubs). I loved the Jet last year so hoping I love the new one as much. Should know in a few days.
Someone please remind me if I need to use any spacers on the BB drive side cup for the Jet? Can't remember. Thanks.
BB on the Jet 9 is 68mm, so for Truvativ cranks, two spacers (one on each side) is necessary. Shimano uses the full three spacers (2 driveside, 1 non-driveside). Have fun!
Great ideas to lighten up the bike. Could hurt the wallet though. Maybe spend that money on a Carbon Air 9. Loving the bike, its nice to have suspension for a change. Magic carpet ride the RIP must be a really plush ride.

I had an Air9 before I got the Jet and knew that a Niner hard tail just begs to be mashed uphill. It just feels fast, no doubt about it. Though the Jet9 was stiff when you stood on it there was no comparison for direct connection of a HT. To be honest I always thought I was faster on the Air9 until I timed myself on both and found that there was not much difference and probably within a margin of error. With the Jet you just have to be smart about how you climb and the payback is huge elsewhere. Longer rides I'll be on the Jet without a doubt.
My large vana white Jet9 just arrived today here in Oklahoma. For those curious about frame weight, mine is 6.43 lbs without the headset or seat collar according to my Park scale. I will post pics when I get it built up. Just waiting on some Crest rims!
