hey guys. i only just realized that i could possibly swap out the standard juicy 7 callipers for something else instead of buying a whole new brake set. anyone swap a caliper for something with 2 pistons or more?

any help would be great as they tend to fade a fair bit on dh runs :(

Check the fluid volume. Typically levers/cylinders designed for one type of caliper (dual or quad piston) don't play nicely with the wrong type of caliper. Use a four-piston on a lever designed for two, and you get reduced stopping power, the lever isn't pushing enough fluid.

You realize Juicy 7 has 2 pistons, right?

Code caliper will work fine. As mentioned, the Code 5 uses a Juicy lever with a Code caliper.

You will need the Code 5 hose kit. You need the end that matches the caliper (Code used a banjo at one point and then switched to an inline fitting). And you will have to use the barb/compression fitting for the lever.

Have you looked at a more simpler solution as in an increase in rotor size? If your bombing DH's on 160 rotors, then yeah you will have fade.

Fade is the brake systems inability to dissipate heat. The more heat, the easier it is for the brake fluid to boil, therefore making the brake fade as when the fluid boils, a gas is created and a gas is compressible, where a fluid isn't.
