We are slowly starting to understand you as a local conversation item, but I am afraid the rest of the country will not know what to do with your press release. The RCMP may even investigate you and arrive at your door with one of those zapper thingies. Perhaps this will be a good excuse to become a science research project......nationally funded of course.

Not for the faint of heart (or liver), the Anti-Race is a Misfit tradition not to be missed. I'm giving up the CX Provincials to do it so you know it's gonna be good.
Mrs. Monster and I have already laid claim to the last two crash pads on Peter's floor so don't even think about asking...

This looks good or bad ..not sure ..I am confused or infused ..making fun of racers ...good ..while racing... um still good ..wait not racing...um can you let Matt win this one...wait how will he win...it all looks like a good time ...hope I'm on the hate list...that's sounds like a winner.
Sorry again rebirth-nogearshere (mud baptized)...gotta save our sport.
1. If I don't gotta a "12 y/o one-legged little girl to pace with" will Ossy tow me dressed like one?
2. Is their a rain date?
Thanks for the Anti-invite
Happy Trails

What if I dare not to do it.
And dare to stay at home and not think about biking.
And post on the other thread about grammar and spelling so that I stay seated and dare to get no exercise......except for da fingurs

Or you could do both! I plan to make a post about proper English usage, go ride a lot, then get totally wasted. Could there be a better day?

i think mostly the delivery is the message.
there are like minded souls that might, given the opportunity, enjoy such and such...be they from Winnipeg, North Van or Amherst.
of course the remainder won't get past the first sentence.
as for the rcmp. what part was interesting? "If you are coming to win, you lose. Losers will be laughed at and possibly killed."
i think if there needs to be an investigation it will probably begin with OPP Bolton (Caledon whatev).
one nice lady cop has a new found grudge with me...while she drove around town happily yapping on her cell she elected to give a most righteous scowl. rather then break her icy stare i gave her the slow finger treatment and we parted ways.
long of the short.
it would be awesome if you elected to come ricksom. come alone or bring friends.
lots of riding to be had, even that late in the season...and yes, someone in the back asked about weather...there is no rain date but there is a rain route. i mean, of course there is, after this season i couldn't possibly eat another baby.
phat you are welcome. it would be the right venue.
mysty attendance is your decision, you arent being excluded because you are so excruciatingly, mind numbingly slow (shite you've been riding with one rubber leg longer then you rode with two), not at all.
the disclaimer on the invite is that it's not a sanctioned event. it's people riding...so you need to be responsible for yourself and make sure you have someone that will ride with you and be prepared to get in and out on your own.
thats all any of us is responsible for. me, i'm riding with mr jager, i presume that means i wont be riding alone. until its empty.
Oh, there's technique involved in boatracing. It's much faster if you start at the level of the beer, so it pours down your throat as fast as possible. Those guys are kneeling. Praying to the beer gods, as it were.
That's a classic photo, Jouko. Brings back memories. I still have those memories because I was smart enough not to actually DO the boatracing. I was like that girl in the photo with the bemused look on her face, wondering if she should start a pool about how soon the puking would begin. Do I hear sixty seconds? Sixty one? Fifty nine? OK!
Edit: I should mention, since you guys clearly don't know and appreciate boatracing, there are five people per team, each with two beers in front. Teams race head-to-head. Once the race starts, the first member of each team downs their beer as fast as possible. Once the empty glass is slammed back on the table, the next person goes and so on until the last person. The anchor. S/he must consecutive down BOTH beers, then it heads back to the start. First team to finish goes to the next round. And has to keep doing it until they lose. And that was MY undergrad experience. Funnels? Those are for wimps.

do you have something against the vertically challenged?
as fascinating as your reality IS...i like the idea of oversized giant man furniture...but that's just me.
We did some Jager shots, climbed the biggest hill in the world, rode some trails, drank more Jager, rode more trails, then practised our aero-tucks down the mountain coasting at 70km/h.
Spak got a prize for his blood's inability to clot.
Team Speed got a prize for being the awesomest
Ryan got a prize for taking things seriously for just a second
Somebody got lost. And got a prize for it.
Everybody at some point got a coaster as a prize. Generally at high velocity. Occasionally painful.
Linda wins most decibels per kilogram. Although she was using performance enhancing noisemakers.
I left early though. Any other notable developments?
My recollection of the sequence of events after a (relatively) calm and semi-civilized dinner is somewhat hazy, probably due to poor air quality at the establishment we chose to enter and re-enter at least two more times after various misconduct penalties had been handed out and (partially) served. Beer was tasty (as always) and the evening went by way too quickly socializing with good friends.
thinking it is - I use it for my hill climbing training a couple of times per season... 265m vertical - and the last stretch is just brutal... Coming down is fun though... Although I started doing a Blue Mountain downhill run (the easiest one - just by the Scenic Caves road...) to get to the bottom again...

others have been cropped to imply innocence. jouko.jpg
the night went by quickly. the hangover. notsomuch.
wow. It is rare indeed that a hill looks bad when photographed. The only thing higher than that hill was my heart rate midway up it.
..I was actually quite concerned about my ability to stay with the group, not knowing if that was going to be typical of the balance of the ride.
Thankfully things returned to normalish after that and much fun was had.
nice to meet you all. can't place names to logon id's but I'm sure, and hope we'll have cause to meet again soon!

Nice to meet you too Mark. Too bad you had to leave so early. You missed all the craziness. On the up side, you also probably felt better on Sunday than the rest of us who stayed .

yep, tis a shame. I like to think I hold my own when things get sideways too.. Next time I'll be sure to schedule in some freakshow style craziness!
Upon waking up on Sunday and looking at the aftermath, I was impressed by our (at this point much smaller) group's collective (and successful) effort to eat couple of pounds of salmon around 2-3am.

I made a pretty good dent in it myself. It was stellar.
Good. Times. The ride was perfect, despite busting a spoke and having to stop multiple times for trail-side fixes. The night was just what the doctor (nick) ordered.
The ride home along dark roads and completely unlit railtrail was equal parts fantastic and terrifying (mostly out of concern for getting creamed by a car).
I think we need seasonal anti-races. That was too much fun, but I think my liver needs some R&R.
Great day, anything that gives me a two day hangover had to have been fun. The hill was killer, it brought flashbacks of childhood watching everyone criss cross the road to get up it
I think nogears has plans already starting for next season. Maybe we can get a special guest

Delurking to say that I too have a two-day hangover and am glad to hear I'm not the only one. Perhaps spending day one of it in a car didn't help.
Thanks everyone for a very fun time!

For some reason I did not have a two day hangover. In fact, I felt rather chipper (unlike some in our car ) yesterday. I did, however, spend most of today couped up in my office with little interest in anything work related. Tonight I'm feeling a little better, partly due to a nice brisk evening walk with the dogs and partly due to the glass of cognac I'm sampling.
