Nice pic. No beer cap for me, but I do take a certain bit of pride in my Thomson cap. Probably one of my sillier bike-related purchases, but for $4.00 I thought I could afford to be vain.

Ohhh... So I'm not the only one with this top cap. At least I've got a rigid fork to add to the suffering.

Me too. Last year I spent too much time on the road bike and got a little soft so I got a Reba. But I like rigid better. Every now and then I throw the Reba on thinking it'll make me faster, only to conclude I still like the rigid better. 10 out of 12 races this year were rigid.

All Work and No Play is No Fun at All.
No pic, but mine is one of those Gary Fisher ones that say, "All Work and No Play is No Fun at" around the circumference, with the "at" coming right up behing the "All", so I can just read it around and around in circles in an anaerobic haze while I'm staring at my stem cap in some climb-laden suffer fest.

Skool's good, it sucks not being able to ride hills anymore though... Mt. P is incredibly boring and flat... oh well, I'll make it back to the ski hill at least once before the snow hits. How's your SS coming?

On hold until the budget opens up in October. I had settled on the Selma with an eXotic ridge, Juicy Ultimate, blah, blah... But a good buddy of mine in CO has a GF SS Superfly with Fox RCL that he has offered to sell me for ~ 1350 (he is pulling the other equipment off). He has been in a two races, but that is it. It sounds like a tempting deal. What do you think? Selma or Superfly?
We will have to get a group ride when you get back into town.
To keep this one thread specific: what would be a fab top cap for the new build? I don't think my LBS carries them

A guy that works at a graphics company....maybe from Rockford, IL??? had completely wrapped every inch of this 'old school' rigid mtb at gf-666 last weekend. I think this technology could be leveraged to produce high resolution, full color, hard core pornography for the ultimate 'fab' top cap.....or maybe a Space Ghost Top Cap would be 'most rad!'

On the contrary my good man, I happen to know a very nice local bike shop that has excellent service, a great staff, and competitive prices that just so happens to carry them (where do you think I got mine? ) Talk to Steve, he probably has one left still.
I dunno know about the frame, man, I've ridden a Superfly (geared) before and they are very nice, but I'm very partial to Salsas. I still think the best bike I've ever ridden was a Salsa Mamasita SS, which from what I can gather, is what the Selma is. Can't beat the price on the Superfly though. Another thing to think about is, which frame would be cheaper to replace?? Well, time for me to head out on a Friday night at college and not drink...
right...
