Opinions about an older Heckler, please help

In your opinions would it be worth spending any money on an older heckler? Im talking 5-6 years old, but kept in good shape, not only that but rebuilt within the last year, fully tuned up etc.. basically nothing wrong with it just that it has some age. Is there anything to look for in the older models?

most importantly, how much do you guys think a fair price would be? (think good overall condition, fully rebuilt back and front shocks)

thanks in advance.

Are older Hecklers that are in great shape worth spending your hard earned money on? Definately! If you want an opinion of a fair price of a built up Heckler, we prob need to know what fork, wheels and other components are on it. Do you have a pic of a particular bike you are interested in and if so, can you post it?

judging by ebay standards, frame is worth 300-500 or so...complete bike probably 600-900...feel free to correct me, but thats my best guess...im looking to build one up as well a little down the road, but i want to build from the frame up preferably...but if you buy complete you usually get a better deal, even used

Bought the wife a 10 year old heckler, takes me back to my youth, cost me £200, with a hope disc, judy, xt set up and the damn think is faster and stiffer than my brand new heckler? This bike has changed drastically over the years? The old Heckler rides like the new specialized Epic, I am considering giving the old one an overhaul and using it as the main bike from now on, wife can have the new one?

Sounds about right to me. Of course I picked up a 2007 with mostly xt and vanilla140rlc for $1000. For the extra hundred bucks I would choose the newer design, it is lighter, stiffer, and more travel.
