yeah...
Yo Steve,
This sounds like a really good time. I was talking about it at work, and found (2) other guys to ride, both of which are really non- mountain bikers.
Our plan for those who may me interested - we will ride all the courses, "race" is way to strong a word for our riding speed... (lol).
Followed by a couple beers on the ice or at Louie B's, which is where our cars will be parked. Food may also be in order, they have a pub menu.
So any of you undecided about going or think this is for serious racers only. Come on out and Ride with us slackers...., Watch....join us for a drink afterwards.
Get your tires Studded !!!
WHENS THE NEXT TIME YOU'LL BE ABLE TO RIDE ON ICE WITH A GROUP OF FRIENDS ?

Sweet- SS jerseys! Does the warm weather become a problem at some point though?

Not until late March/early April Shouldn't be a problem. The edges could get a little mushy, but with all this cold, I think it is going to take more warm to even melt the edges. The real ice out in the middle will be fine.

Weather is still looking Fantastic!!!
Shoveling and snow-blowing the course tonight. Meeting at 5:30, in case anybody can lend a hand. Bring whtever tools you think might be useful. The cover on the lake was chunky and heavy, as of last Saturday.

The cover on the lake changes fast! Relatively light layer of crust now. Some powder and no slush underneath. The oval and drag strip are shiny and Race Ready!!! The GP/Crit course will be finalized early on Sunday.
BIG THANKS to those who came out tonight to help!
Planning to arrive for 7:30 on Sunday. If anybody can come early to help clear off the wind-blown, that would be great! Square point long handled dirt shovels are the best tool for the job. There will be a snow blower to toss away the broken up crust.
Should be good fun!!! Hope you can make it out on Sunday!!!
