Barbie Camp Fall 2008 photo thread

This was the best Barbie Camp ever!!!

The weather was perfect, the trails were awesome, and the people were a riot. We had approx 70 attendees, including 41 riders on the Trail 99 ride Saturday! What a weekend!!

We started the weekend off right by hitting Mr T on our way over the pass. Here's a few pix

We had time to soak in Belknap Hot Springs, and then head to BC in time to set up camp and get a few beers in before dark. Friday night was prety mellow, and we all looked forward to a great ride on Saturday.

Saturday, we all met in Sisters to organize a shuttle for Trail 99. Our appointed guide did not make it, but we were lucky to have Mr Cookie join us and show us how to get where we were going. Thanks alot Mr Cookie for saving the day!!! I hope you're feeling better Sans Soucie

I only took a few photos during the ride, and here they are:

Saturday night was pretty crazy. We had a potluck diner, shwag raffle, fireside crits, smack talking competitions, and we almost had a full blown cat fight! The warm weather, good food, and copious amounts of alcohol combined to create a certain vibe that made for much fun and hilarity!

I'll post a taste of friday's activities, and link to more pix below

Sunday, some of us hit up King Castle on our way home. It was a quick ride, but an awesome way to cap off a great weekend of fun.

He didn't even bring the whole bike with him, didn't you have the front wheel? what's up with that?

There was slightly less face-plant action without you so yes, you were missed.

Brother up north says,

"you guy's don't phock around!"

That was the coolest display on night-time debauchery I've ever seen.

Best Ever! Until Next Time ...

Great rides, riders and times. Thanks all DOD's and the like minded. Beautiful weather - Oregon's finest. Had a great time watching the races. Who went home with the podium shoes?

Great time as always. Good friends old and new. Glad to see some of our bretheren and sisteren from up north come out for this crazy, sacred event. I discovered during the branding process that my pants had rivets, Ouch - them's hot!, so the Brandmaster got branded in a minor way.

I have a few pics downloaded to the hard drive at home, but I won't be back there until next weekend, so I may add some at that time.

As one of those new brethren from the north and a first-time Barbie Camper, I wanted to say thanks to all y'all for putting on such a fun shindig. I had a great time and enjoyed the weekend and the spectacular weather you ordered up for the event. Thanks Davey for everything. Thank you to Lee for leading the Suttle Lake ride on Saturday. Thanks Tim, for the souvenir branding. Thanks to everyone for the good grub on Saturday night. It was great putting faces to nicknames and getting to ride with some of you.

Happy trails,
Terry

Thanks to the DOD and Davey for hosting such a great Oregon event.
Saturday's ride was a hoot. The fireside crit was inspiring. Weather was unreal.

Rode MRT Sunday and Monday on the way back to Portland.

Tom L. a-l-m-o-s-t fell into the fire while circling the fire. But he barely saved it. The fire was extra hot this year. In fact one time Tom fell off one of the midget bikes and touched one of the stones in the fire ring, burning a finger in the process. And the rivets in Mudflap's (AKA Brandmaster T) jeans left burns on him.

Think sweaty mud angels...

It was one of the best ever. I have not been able to ride much, so I opted to do Suttle Lake with 6 others. I got some pics around the lake, but was too busy having fun riding again to get much more.

Woo-Hoo!

Barbie camp! It was a most excellent adventure. A few pics to add to the stockpile.

Ted rode cross, made his tongue hang out.

Sunday, after sleeping it off...a few of us rode some MrT. Most of the leaves have fallen, but still enough remnants to make a spectacular ride even more so. Too bad I can't take good pics.

The trail looks like it is blocked, it's not, the only impediments are the lava heads sticking up everywhere. Brad is having his issues with them now.

Thanks for the good times guys! I am really happy I went. Who would have thought I could get drunk enough to be persuaded to make of a display of myself in the girls' crit?

Everything about this event was awesome. Trail 99 on Saturday...hanging out (literally in my case ) around the fire...the entertaining banter from the group of guys next to me during the raffle...the awesome keg of homebrew...getting to know all of you a little better—you're all a little less scary to me now.

Thanks to everyone who shared their pictures and videos...and for not posting photos of my ass. Oh wait, I think that happened. Oh well, it's all good.

Maybe I'll see some of you out on the trail sometime. Cheers!

I'm terrible with names so advance apologies if I get it wrong but...

did anyone get a vid of Colleen brake checking the $hit out of Tom? That was brilliant.

Thanks to everyone who showed up to make BC what it is. Trail 99/Peterson was excellent and only felt like it was a few miles long. I was astounded that we all were able to finish in the time we did with minimal mechanicals; thanks to MrCookie for leading us around. The Dry Crack ride with Richard, Larry and Justin was tons o fun too. I had a blast as usual.

Thanks everyone and I'll see you again next fall.

WTF??? Best BC EVER???? DAMMIT, I missed it AGAIN!!! I have a good excuse this time, I was in Qatar waiting to go home after a 4 month all-expenses-paid-trip to BumbleF@ck Iraq. I guess the 3rd time is the charm. Or maybe not. (it also snowed orange dirt twice this year!!!) The only real good that came out of the trip is that I lost 36lbs, for a total of 45lbs this year. I have 10-15 more to loose and I'll be golden. I'm in really good shape now too, and will be picking the local trails again to keep in shape.
Thanks fer the pics everyone.

Prove it!

C'mon back to BC, dude. We waited as long as we could to have fun but finally had to go ahead without ya. Don't let that happen again. Welcome back and don't head for the sandbox anymore... Barbie awaits your triumphant return.
