KILLER shots Whafe!!!

Wow, some amazing shots dude. I love the ones of Bobby McMullen getting led down by Kirt Voreis through Hornet. Like that section isn't tight enough with good vision.

I agree with Z....check out the eyes on that pic. Incredible. FYI, that's none other than Dirt Series coach, former world masters DH champ and 2008 Women's Worx champion, Lorraine Blancher.

Whafe, mind if CBX forwards that along to Lorraine? Pass me the original if you don't mind via email.

Dude, you missed the ruffles in my shot!?!

For the mtbr folks....Lopes won with a time of 4:22, Greg Minaar was 4:23, Chris Kovarik and Mark Beaumont rounded out the top 4 with 4:27 and 4:28. That's just stupid fast.

Cheers,
EB

Awesome photos Whafe - those ones with the blurry background really add that element of speed ... love it!

Lopes winning another DH race on a Mojo - they're going to go nuts over that in the Ibis Forum....

Yes, agree, in perspective though, the Mojo wouldnt last too many runs down the Garbanzo DH in my opinion, not knocking it, just an opinion...

B Lopes was running single ply tires too....

As I just stated in the Ibis forum, this is exactly the type of race that suits Lopes strengths - cornering, scrubbing air on jumps and his fitness for the pedally stretches. Yes, it's a timed event, but it's not a true DH race by any means.

I love my Mojo to death, I love the Garbanzo DH trails and did them a lot on my DH bike when we were there for a couple of weeks in July - but there ain't no way in hell I would take a Mojo on them over a true DH bike. Lopes could probably still rip it on his Mojo but that would just be more evidence that it is mostly the Rider and not the bike! (and I imagine he would way faster on a DH rig than on a Mojo)

Bobby is a crazy mofo. I've been reading about him in the mags for a couple years, haven't had the pleasure of watching him race yet, besides Whafes photos. He's got a movie coming out pretty soon too, supposed to be all about his racing career and how he does it. Can't wait to check it out!

Cheers rroader, the rig is going well, I enjoy A Line on a shorter travel bike though, but am getting used to jumping the big bike.... It is a fast bike..... Me not so fast...

Heading out now for an XC type ride, Whistler XC....
