Good job! The Butt Naked One is Complete (Many Pics)

The totally butt naked one is complete....

A HUGE thank you to Falco and the Nicolai team for getting this frame sorted for me, it has blown my mind yet again.... Nicolai Linky

Went together very well, as normal with Nicolai frames from past experience, all facing etc was perfect, no spacers needed on the brake mounts, headset went in dreamlike, some effort though, the CK Steelset is a beast.... BB went in like a dream, Deity you rock...

Just having the brake cables shortened slightly.... No tools with me for that

The Deity Dirty Thirty bars are wide and mean, but being a tall cat, they feel good thus far....

The Short XO rear der, tuned up like a dream with the Dura Ace 11 - 23 cassette...

Have been trying to hunt down a 2.5 Maxxis Highroller, no go, been to so many stores, have on there now a 2.7 Maxxis Minion DHR Sticky, too wide for Whistler....

I head to Whistler tomorrow, am dam excited to ride and catch up with a great bunch of people up there in the town that is Whistler...

Here is the final build = Below or Nicolai ION ST Build page

Height: 6'3.5, 83 Kg's, Bum of a rider

Well, you already know what I think...

Jealous.

BTW, if you walk into the Summit shop, they had PILES of Maxxis tires. Every compound and size of Highroller was available when I was there mid-July. Hopefully they aren't out, but you're gonna pay! (If I remember right, price was $80 a tire. US or CAD. )

Also, Bummed to see you off the TFR, mostly cause I can't take it off your hands.

Good luck in Whistler sir... As usual, I'm sure you will provide mucho pics upon your return.

Thanks all for the comments, appreciated

She is all packed up and ready for her trip to Vancouver in the plane, then up to Whistler.

I will run the Time Pedals, have 2 bikes for this trip, so thought it would be easier to run same pedals on both machines, may be a bad call, but hey, time will tell.....

I think it's a good idea to run the pedals your used to, get a feel for the bike. I've done a handfull of rides on the Gran Mal and all of em have been on flats, I think I might throw on my caged spuds next time, still not comfy enough on the flats after riding clips forever.

that is one fine looking steed. Blows away just about every ting I've seen in the DH world as far as aesthetics go. hopefully she rides as FREAKINHAWT as she looks.
whatcha gonna name her..... If it was me i'd roll with a high profile uber sexy supermodel name like Adriana, Natalia, or Gemma....... or my personal fav.. feeling it is entirely appropriate with them long legs and all Gisele. she is the ringer and all.
anywho enough of my ramblings.
congrats

Not sure what to call her. Mmmmmm many names come to mind though..... Let me think on it...

CF - that there is a seriously hawt nine one one.... Gives me the shudders...

rroader - that was my thoughts too re pedals, I am not wanting to ride flats on the rides outside of the park, so needed to run with what am used to.....

chinaman - I too am hoping for a safe trip, need to be a tad cautious, need to last for 8 days of riding.....

The dirty bastids of Alaska Airlines, of which are a One World member airline, of which I am the highest possible member one can be, they still charged me for an extra bag... Unbelievable, airlines are just getting beyond acceptable....... Rant over......

Wow! That is mighty fine looking bucket of bolts, even if they shipped her to you without any paint - you must've been in a rush.

Seriously though, awesome looking frame and build - hope you have a great time on her in Canada.

Dang, Whafe... you're the Hugh Hefner equivalent of mtb's... never too many bikes and only the very best of them.

Actually, I'd rather be in our shoes than Heff's...

uh, no, wait... Heff still beats you to it.

Congrats, bro!! But I think you could lose a pound or two if you went with a SID.

Are the Nucleon and the Helius still in the fleet??

And somebody already started with the excuses....

"Springbok Fourie du Preez, the halfback rated by All Black coach Graham Henry as the best in world rugby, is unsure whether he will be at the top of his game against New Zealand this weekend."

"It's difficult to say, because I haven't played enough, but I'm getting there," he said.

"Obviously playing the All Blacks isn't the easiest game around."

Translation... "if the AB's kick our arses and they'll most probably will, at least I can excuse myself for it".
