Well.... I have been dating Kitty Cat since 1990, she has treated me very good. When others couldn't we did, but two years ago I had a fling with Marge . Marge was large and in charge. Recently, I had a fling with Katie Eighty. She took me places that I never thought I could go. After that I just dated any of them depending on the situation. But now, since I saw your email... I just can't get you out of my head ...... you could be the one. Yes ...... the one that could make me break up with all of them. I think you, Single Fifty, can make me stop from swapping! Yours truly,Billy

eBay the old wheels and build a new set with these so we can all admire them. Then go out and buy every wide 29" tire available and take measurements...

The 29er rims are just in silver right now. Both black and silver for 26 in.

Now all I need is a tire to go with them

2.3 Exis are a good start but a 2.5 or 2.7 with open nubs would be great.

I'm reminded of the great line in the Pink Floyd song, If, by Roger Waters on the LP Atom Heart Mother: "If I were a rule, I'd bend."

Besides, most know who Greg IS on the AK board and that he owns a shop so what's your point?? Besides.... you don't read so well do you??.... From the rules you dutifully pointed us to....

"All Manufacturers / Vendors / Shop Owners / Sponsored Riders should declare their status as a Retailer / Manufacturer in their signature." It says SHOULD, not MUST. There is a big difference in the meaning of these two words. Here's another example: You should get a life. VS You must get a life. One implies obligation and the other necessity.... see the difference

"However, if you own or work for a bike shop, you MAY put a link to your shops website main page to show your affiliation.(this bullit point updated by gregg 6/7/07)." What do you think the url at the bottom of the OP was about??

Regards,

One rather bold point, which you omitted EndUser, states, “Bottom line: Participate and post content in mtbr. Don't use mtbr to get free money for your business. Sponsoring mtbr assures our survival and is very affordable.” Rather then supporting a forum which he posts rather frequently on Thirstywork took the road of free advertisement.

Now you may be saying, “Nomen, this isn’t an advertisement at all.”

Oh but my friend it is. I’ll use Thirstywork's own words, these rims are a “Speedway exclusive.” This simple addition of two words reforms this once benign post into a festering pustule of cancer. Also the little plug of contact information leads one to assume that Thirstywork posted this add so that people would a.) contact him and b.) buy rims.

Thirstywork, quit using the forum as free advertising. Support the website you use so frequently.

something like "Hell yeah! Hats off Greg! way to bring in inovative new products to the snow biking world!"

Like that?

I think that says it all .If Manny were Moderator he'd agree.

Well, that's a relief. For a minute there, I was afraid someone might overreact on this thread.

I think this is a case in which common sense should prevail. Anyone who has used this forum for a significant period of time has seen posts from pretty much every shop in town mentioning that they have a particular part that someone's looking for, or some new product that might interest local riders.

But I've never seen any of them post messages about sales or special offers. There's the letter of the law, and then there's the spirit of the law. This forum hasn't been polluted by abusive commercial posts, and I hope it never will be. But threads related to new technology are a little different than, say, "This weekend only! All clothing and accessories 30% off!"

We're all bike pervs, or we wouldn't be here. If someone wants to post pics of some cool new doodad or the latest fat-bike paint job, I'll keep scanning the velo porn.

And remember, a vote for Manny is a vote for Moderation!

Greg!

I just took one of Billy's rental Pugs out for a three hour ride this afternoon on the TOA route round-trip from Turnagain to Service High. Well, Billy set me up w/ your new 80mm rims. All I can say it...WAY TO GO! If I hadn't heard about both the rent-a-Pugs and the 80mm rims on THIS forum I wouldn't have had the obscene amount of fun I had today. Major perma-grin!

Thanks for letting us know! I really appreciate it.

Get crazy if you want Mr.paralegal, but this is free advertisment any way you spin it.
Even a one man operation like Mikesee takes out ads and anounces his status in his signature.
You sir are a chode, and Pink Floyd has like three good songs.

Disregards

Hey Big Karma! Are we, as in you and me, gonna get in trouble for posting pictures and comments and marketing our new and improved Heavy Duty Portable Lighting System? - now available exclusively outta our garages. Will the MTBR Forum Gestapo show up at the next Frigid Bits and greet us with, "Up against the snow bank MoFo!" They better show up on Endomorphs, or they will never catch us. Man, that will be cool, I haven't been chased by the cops for a long time now.

Five bucks says Nomen is a (semi) regular poster who created a dummy account b/c he was embarrased to openly slag the Speedway boys. While I don't agree with him, I could understand his (or her) position...that is, up until the " festering pustule of cancer" remark. Blowing it a bit out of proportion, wouldn't you say there, Nomen?

Now as for this thing festering on my a$s...will fatter rims help that?

Finally, I always thought chode was actually spelled choat. Guess I learned me something today.

SkiMonkee, I just picked up some new tools, compliments of Thirstywork, that might be perfect for extracting the pus from those festering pustules that are boiling up on your big, beautiful, bicycle, bubble, butt. Butt, we'll have to wait until after we're done grillin'. You know they'll work, they're made by Park!

As for the chode, choat reference, my rememberance of it while hanging out on street corners is "choda" and this www link should clear that up

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Talk:choda

Side note: Did you ever pick up the other Gogol Bordello CD? If not I'll try and remember to bring it to the next Frigid Bits.

Getting tired of this

I don't care if someone has a cool prodoct that they would like to show and/or sell. If they are a large company with national advertising, than I have a problem with that.
Someone like bearbait, Thirsty, and others that have innovative products but shoestring advert. budgets should be allowed to show off their stuff.
Mikesee's posts from the past were insightful and informative. Were they intentional spam....? I doubt it. do I miss some of his writing? Yes., but someone objected and Mike's posts almost diappeared.
Let's not get tooooo anal. Let's just ride.
