Snow Day

Well I punched my way back out of Texas. Even though the weather took a turn for the chilly, or "cold" as they call it down there, I got in a passel of good rides before the frunnal system moved in. (If you've ever been delivered the weather report from a genuine good ol' boy weather forecaster in Texas, you'll understand and appreciate the fact that there is not, nor does there need to be, a "t" in frunnal system)

So here's a redux from a week ago:

sleeveless jerseys and the humming of Townes' "Texas River Song"

"Li, li, li, le, le, le
Lend me your hand
There's many a river
That waters the land"

'Course it ain't really a river, more of a creek, or crick type of arrangement.

Fast forward to yesterday.

It being post-Thanksgiving, I decided to switch out ot something a bit more seasonal in color.

Now the temptation here is to get into a greater than, less than debate and start riffing on the theme of "oh, goshie it is so much nicer to ride in the warm sun." But I can say without a scrap of disingenuity that a good romp though the snow is always a treat, not to be cast aside amidst carking concerns over cold toes and whatnot.

Plus we ran into these guys:

(hfly, got your ears on? These were pretty unique in execution)

I'm just glad you left and took that gloomy weather with you!

We're back to our usual "winter" weather this week. Warmth, sunshine, fine trails, good friends... life is good.

As much as I hate snow, I would take the white stuff in your images over the pounding wind and rain we've been getting all day!

Great pics.
