Waltzing Across No Country for Old Men

AZ ~~> TX

Back to, through and across the landscape of my youth. I can't count the number of times I trekked across West Texas. Countless trips, countless vehicles.

These are not bicycle people out here, I had numerous inquiries about "them Yeti Sickles", but interest flagged perceptibly when the uncomfortable truth was revealed: these sickles have no motors.

And so I arrived back where all the trouble started. Where i first mountain biked, way back in the early eighties, a gangly, quiet youth who peered myopically at the world through bottle-thick plastic glasses.

Nice pics and words, as always. I hope you had a good visit with your family. Too bad the weather wasn't/isn't conducive to more folks getting out and riding.

Damn this cold rain, anyway. It's a trainer ride for me this morning, then a run in the afternoon. I'm going friggin' stir crazy!!

It was a good movie, though I bet many people going in expecting a Michael Mann-esque crime drama will emerge from the theatre confused and uneasy. 'Specially if they didn't read the book.

I went in knowing absolutely nothing about the story or book. Loved the ending, even though (especially because?) it wasn't what we're used to. My parents hated it for the same reason. Now I wanna read the book.
