That's a brilliant bike. Good on ya for committing to such a unique and unconventional design. I can only imagine that will be a bike for pure, straight up fun.

I love the angles, though I wouldn't go for such a low bb (I know that's your preference). The divided ST really is my favorite.

I do think that anyone who rides rigid hard enough (not me!) to want a thru-axle is looking at hard issues if they're not careful.

I'd like to know your height and inseam, and how you decided upon the geo that you did. What type of trails do you ride etc., and what else influenced your decisions etc. Seriously.

Fill us in on your motives behing the geometry specs. For a SS (looks like this bike can be both SS and geared) the slack SA is nice IMO. Really lets you get a lot of low rpm power to the pedals from a seated position on the tough climbs. 71 is a bit on the far end of the spectrum. 72 is about as far as I've tried, and liked, but 71 might be a bit much for me at least. How'd you come up with the 71? Was it necessary with the shorter chain stay length (which is awsome BTW)?

My guess this is definitely going to be a rig designed to tackle more rugged trails. TA up front (great), and a slacker HA, short chainstays. The slacker HA with the longer rake is a nice combination making for a more endo proof rig ready to take on steeper trails but still gives a front end that can still turn quickly. On the other hand, if my internal compass is correct, you'll have a front end more prone to washout. That won't be much of an issue if you are running big rubber up front, which I guess that's what you are looking at doing.

Of coure I'm making a lot of assumptions on your motives behind the design. Fill us in won't you?

Miker, as you suspect....this will be a bike inclined towards some very aggressive east coast riding. It will be run as a SS 95% of the time, but with the clay here in the extreme winter months, a SS is out of the question (it will see gears that time of year). The angles are very relaxed, with a rearward weight bias (my preference)...the 56mm offset on the fork will keep things snappy up front while ruling out any chance of endos!
The geometry was a combination of philosophies....mine, Fred's and Jeff Jones, I am very confident that it is going to ride as smartly as it looks

Being a big guy (6' 220lbs) I prefer a TA up front....this bike will get thoroughly thrashed, and love every minute of it

...yeah, I bailed, last minute. I have a Hopey I bought second hand...the seller forgot to mention that it was made for a 1.5" HT So it has sat in a box for over a year. I thought about the integrated mount & it seems very intuitive....however, without any saddle time I was afraid I wouldn't like it and then I would have a nasty lil' wart on the top tube

I think I'll get the proper bracket from tim & give it a go....maybe next frame

When I convert my bikes to SS, I put the seat more forward. This, to give me a comfortable spin when seated. Standing up, the seat is not used anyway, and I'll need all the cockpit length I can get to not be cramped. With a slack STA and short CSL, Any seated climbing (for me) would be rather shallow, nothing anyone would go out of the sea for. The short rear vs the long frant will make the front end bouncy anyways?
I'd love a bike like that, but would consider it downhill&tricks only.

...well, since I conceived the frame for my personal riding style (not yours...which is apparently an anomaly for most folks), it will lend itself quite well to SS'ing in my area. Trails here are very technical, with lots of steep pitches (up & down)....I rarely do any climbing in the saddle while ss'ing. The slack STA keeps the saddle down & out of the way when not needed as well as a fairly long cockpit when seated. Bear in mind I will be using a 50mm stem on this bike as well .

The geometry for this bike is not very unlike that of a Jones frame it was inspired by (perhaps not quite as slack). I am convinced it will work very well for me.

Thanks for the post! What a cool-a$$ bike! I'm impressed with myself, too - when I saw the pics, I thought - "Jones inspired geometry". My personal riding style always involves climbing out of the saddle, and having that rear wheel tucked under your butt like that must be ideal. I like the fork, too...although you'll need to get a bike rack that doesn't require front wheel removal! thanks for sharing the pics.

Looks nice, but I'm a fan of panels... I think a nice silver colored panel underneath the wolfhound name would look pretty sweet.

I'm a fan of the panel version you posted, but I'm not a huge fan of the black. The bike looks really freaky and personally I'd go with a bright color so that the little things stand out more. Black tend to hide the curves.

...honestly, the white is just being used for contrast to review the art. I will likely choose a different color (stealthy). I am waiting to hear back from Keith with his personal thoughts toward color selection.

Personally I liked the finish the frame had during it's build up satge. The natural raw finish w/ exposed bits of filler are just cool looking. My vote would be to just clean it up and leave it raw w/ a couple coats of clear. Of course i'm sure whatever you decide to go with will be great, it's your baby after all

ok thats it. the wolfhound is just tits So my vote for color would be to keep the white panels and do black chrome for the rest. I fabed a little ornimental iron in my time and we used the black chrome on many projects that turned out great. Thats powder by the way. I think its silver w/ silver trans on top. Pic will not do it justice. Just a killer bike so far.
