Non-weekend 12/28/2006 Pisgah ride

A couple of folks are planning on doing a loopa around the Horse Stables area if anyone is interested.

No firm time yet.

Loopa = long bike ride

Loopa does not equal a professional caddy.

Mebbe so

I might be in if I can find a sitter for my boy. I'm off all week, but his daycare is closed too.

I think Broussard wants to go out in Asheville that night too to show his cousin some hipster culture. You should come up for the festivities. You know get outta that stagnating bunghole of G'ville! And tour guides don't come any more hipster than me

Great ride yesterday. Have to love the brutal winters of the southern Appalachians.

Come on up

Every binge needs a good pharmacist on board, Dennis. I'll PM you details once we figure out the plan. Got any favorite spots you want to hit?

Sorry you can't make it Tomato. Keep me posted on the ride plans.

I definitely wanna ride with you on 12/28.

I am a little intimidated by your skill level. I enjoy climbing hills and can usually keep up. Peddling up from Rice Pinnacle lot to top of greenslick without stopping is usually doable.

Do you think I can keep up?

Will check this thread for updates and plan on meeting you at the Horse Stables by 9:30.

I would not worry about keeping up. We stop and wait at all major intersections. The big question is can you ride for 4-5 hours? If so, come enjoy!

Right now I am planning on climbing Clawhammer to Buckwheat. After that we might do more we might not . . .

As long as you can climb clawhammer and come back down we/you can either call it quits or continue on. I don't plan on this being a balls to the wall day.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, who could this be? Is that you Mr. P?

We got another good group lining up for this ride. Should be fun. Let's hope the weather holds.

Peace.

Hey,

I may join in on the ride but will be coming from the Gauging Station instead of stables. Would like to meet up on top somewhere. Maybe the Stairs at Buckhorn Gap. If you are going there. Whats your plan??

Is there a route planned yet?

Hey everybody!
I'm trying to convince Erinna to come out and play with us. What route are you thinking of Jonathan?

E,

I hadn't planned completely yet, I figured we would climb Clawhammer and go from there. I wanted to hit Buckhorn since I have yet to ride that trail.

Tell Erinna to come play. I am planning on a casual pace of play considering I am fat and hungover right now.

I figured for those who want, we can roll on after the climb/descent and those who opt out can head back to the cars.

Let me know if you've got any suggestions.

Peace

Rideorsit,

I can't guarantee that we will be able to meet up as plans change frequently with this group. If you want to try and meet us at the top of Clawhammer, go for it!

We will probably start climbing around 10:00, so however long it takes us to climb the hammer is when we will be there.

Good Luck.

See y'all there

I'm in for at least part of the ride. My boy is out of school, and Mom is working, but I have a sitter until around 2:00. I'll ride with you guys as long as I can and then skeedaddle when I have to.

The drinking activities in Asheville tomorrow night are still open to any miscreants, malcontents, curmudgeons, or other such people of questionable moral character.

Cheers

Winter Tour

Great to meet everyone!! What a super ride, and Sunny Trails. I was hoping to to head back this weekend, but it looks like a rain out. I will be back next weekend to continue my winter tour. Anyone wants to meet up. Let me know!!! I do most my rides based from the Gauging Station. I can camp here and ride many different loops.

Scott, Still coming down this weekend? I am thinking of riding the ranger district on Saturday if the weather looks decent.

Peace.
