Good job! An interesting 3 days in Moab

Just returned from 3 days in Moab - M, T, W - great riding on Poison Spider and Porcupine Rim but the most interesting feature was the torrential rain on Monday! They have had almost 4 inches of rain since 10/1 and even the locals are building arks.

The best part were the waterfalls that were created on all of the rock walls everywhere - photos attached.

The rain actually made Poison Spider rideable on Tuesday - the deep sand was tacky; some puddles - no, lakes - you had to ride around but all in all, a pleasant day of riding with comfortable temps - mid 60's.

Wednesday's ride on Porcupine Rim was also different for me - I have ridden PR every year since 1993 and this was by far the most challenging time, especially on the singletrack descent through the canyon to the road. Many sections had been washed out and eroded and the sand was wet enough to make you think twice about making certain moves with wet sand clinging to your tires. Thank god for armor. I used it frequently on this ride.

All in all, though, a great day on the Rim and a good trip.

No good I was not riding, but my friends were!

My friends were on Amasa Back when the downpour happened - they said it was amazing how much water came down in 30 minutes.

I was driving in through Castle Valley when it opened up and there were flash floods across the road in places.

I have never seen so much water appear in such a short time in my life.
