Spa- Francorchamps (Belgium) : new parts 2007 (XTR)

Hereby an overview of the new parts used by the rides at the Belgian UCI race in Spa- Francorchamps

XTR ST-M975 Dual Control Lever for Disc Brake & XTR SL-M970 RAPIDFIRE Plus Shift Levers

I had the chance to test the new XTR triggers & dual controls in combination with a prototype of the new XTR crank & front derailleur with the new XTR rear derailleur. What is immediately noticed is how quick en light everything shifts, both with the dual controls as the new triggers. With the new triggers you can shift down two gears at once, or one at a time. Pictured are the new dual controls. Notice that the oil reservoir is attached to the clamp, and no longer part of the brake lever like last year.

I'm a convinced SRAM X.0 rider, but the XTR 2007 's first impression is promising!

XTR Hydraulic Disc Brake System (BR-M975 Hydraulic Disc Brake Caliper & SM-RT97 Center Lock Disc Rotor

One piece brake caliper, disc riveted to alu (?) spider

XTR 2007 front derailleur - prototype

Prototype of the new XTR front derailleur, CNC cut.

XTR RD-M970 Low Normal Rear Derailleur

XTR WH-M975 Wheel Set for Disc Brake

Pay attention to the spoke nippels, welded to the rim.

XTR Quickreleases

XTR 2007 crank - prototype

The left crankarm is only secured with one bolt. Also pay attention to the central bolt at the crank.
