Since I dont have a lot of money to spend, I have to choose between these 2 frames. Jamis dakar xc pro 2004 or KHS xc 304 2003. Both used of course, but no damages besides the usuall scratches. Anyone who can help me decide?
That's not entirely true. Some early 2004's had a problem with the rear triangles. In a few instances, the welds failed. Some people (myself included) had problems with the rear drop-outs. They were supported by three arms that connected to the upper pivot. Some of these arms cracked.
Jamis redesigned to a four-arm style, that appears to have correct the problem. You may want to double-check the frame is this newer design. Jamis frames are warranted for 5 years, however, this only applies to the original owner.
Jamis also has excelent customer service. if anything was to fail to a 2nd owner you can call them & talk about the problem. They are very reasonable about there decission they wont leave you out to dry.:thumbsup:
According to the reviews, the shock suck. I havent tried it yet so I dont know. Any recomendings for a replacement?
And it looks like the first account I created was active again. Lol.

Yes,its a Fox Float RL. I will be able to test it tuesday or friday. If its ok I spend my money on a new krank. Next is a new fork. And then I need a new.........omg, it never ends
I have the same frame with the horst link and the Fox RL. I had to to warranty the lower swing arm but Jamis looked after it promply and I love the frame.
