Great pics! We definitely have alot to be thankful for. By no means am I a photographer but I definitely have quite a few pics that bring bag floods of memories and remind me of all that I have to be thankful for.....here's a few "themed" photos...

1. Friends, Family, and those that fall in between.
2. Living outside.
3. Seeing new places and riding new trails. Traveling.
4. Seeing an area for the umpteenth time....and still being wowed.
5. Companionship.

I haven't seen anything close to the trails or landscapes you people have. Hardly been out of the country (or above seas level for that matter).

Best me memories I have for this ride : the National SS Champs, first time on my Cube-to-SS conversion with Walt fork. First true 29"er I tried under 23lb, and immediately 18.6lb. a blast, and on the most fun singletrack to be found within 2 hours by car from here.
Also this was the most fun pre and post-ride experience in a long time, good people, cool SS bikes, oh and excellent finish line beer.

Most thankful I am for something new in my life that has much much less to do with bikes. Although she (her idea, I don't push at all) does want to try more serious riding with me. Perhaps if we survive this winter...which I sure hope we will. Maybe I'd save a 26"er for her. My old VooDoo's with a shorter stem or swept bar should fit her fine, she's a bit over 6 foot taal :-) Need to find a large 29"er frame somewhere though...

I am thankful that we have MikeC for all that he does here and all that he gives to us. What adventures, and what beautiful documentation of those, that he shares with us. Thanks for the photos, and thanks for always helping us to remember why we love to ride.

I am thankful for my bruthas! and all the many adventures that I get to share with them even though we live all over the country. And since we never have enough time actually together---I am thankful for xbox live.

And I am thankful that the beautiful Mrs Shark is patient with my travels and riding and that she loves her 29er too.

Phenomenal Photography, Mike!!

I'm thankful I got to ride in some diverse areas during this past year. It involved boxing up the Sugar 293 and shipping it out to California, but the hassle and expense was worth it for me. I rode in some places I had never been on a bike before and have a few photos from some those new places including China Camp, Joaquin Miller Park (photo where the Rainbow Trout species was first identified), and a California vineyard that specializes in dessert wines. I also threw in some photos of my usual rides over the past year in Iowa as well as the Black Hills of South Dakota. And of course, one should always be thankful of getting to go on a ride with their partner in life.

You owe it to yourself to hop on the train and head down for a solid week to the Alps next summer. Switzerland or Austria ought to do it for you. Or even France.

You can stay in the Alpine inns in the summer for very reasonable rates. Plenty of Schnitzel to fuel your daily rides. The scenery, the trails, the mountain air and the gemÃ¼tlichkeit will change your life forever.

Yeah that's definately on the calendar when funds permit. A buddy of mine is telling me we're going. He's a Swiss fan, and I love to go there. Austria can't be too bad either.
I need 5 hours of climbing every day for at least a week on end and things will be better. Damn mountains are a day's travel away, so I don't have more than a couple weeks expereince on them.

Agreed, lots to be thankful for...
mward inspired some fashion shots on today's ride...

It was the annual ride up Saddleback Peak (5,675') that occurs almost every Thanksgiving. That altitude is gained over the course of 12 miles. It's a pretty steep affair.

Winter has set in solidly here in SoCal...temps were a frigid

55degrees at the start but with all our layers we were able to survive as things warmed up to 70 degrees.

My assistant has been riding about 2 months...he made the trek on Madre's Rig! It took him a while but he did it! Hasn't gotten a hold of the clips entirely yet though.

mike see... you are unbelievably lucky to have such gorgeous, well-marked trails. Where is that? Some almost look remniscent of Moab. Im going to Moab next summer hopefully, ill snap pictures.

As for now, would anyone mind if I posted pictures of my trails? I dont have a 29 incher, I just want to make sure nobody will get frustrated. Im looking into getting a a 29 though, seems more enjoyable on the trails.

Thanks K. That was on the first proper date, less than 2 hours into it. I had owned my first digi for maybe 4 hours by then. On that ancient fortress in the middle of Leiden, gorgeaous date, I had to capture the moment.

I got to sing it a couple weeks ago with about 200 guys up in Forest Falls, CA.....pretty cool.

I'm thankful to God....for creating us, and giving us a really cool planet to live on.
Also for giving some humans the brains to invent and improve bicycles so we can enjoy it even more. For those of you who are not creationists, take a look at some of those pictures again..........yeah, like this place that just happened by coincidence. Of course I could be wrong but, I like to think there is a grand plan and design and we are part of it.

Great post! Epic pics from all over the world. Some of us are truly blessed. I feel very fortunate to live where I do. I have riding (dirt and road) right out my door and awesome dirt trails 30 minutes away. Lake Tahoe is only 1 hour away with tons of trails. The icing on the cake is the Ventana factory is 20 minutes from my shop.

Weather here in Arizona was perfect, took out my old bike and - guess what? Im motivated now to get a SS and/or 29"!

The creek! This shot was interesting, there was a resorvoir higher than the creek... its sideways so turn your heads.

Im not used to seeing water on the trail... second time ive been to this creek, was a blast.
