SRAM Attack trigger shifter vs. anything Shimano?

So I've done a search on the SRAM attack trigger shifter. Alot of good and some bad. Here's my setup. I'm building a FR/DJ/trail bike that's gonna be a 1x9. I have a shimano XT 750short cage derailer that I need to get a shifter for. I figure spending $50 +/- is decent start, but finding a shifter by itself has been interesting. As much as I'd like to stay with shimano I figured I'd maybe try a SRAM attack trigger shifter. Would the SRAM stand up to the abuse I'm gonna give it or should I just buck up and spend more for the XT/XTR/Saint shifter.

True, but I'm looking at the SRAM attack trigger shifters not the twist grip.

I use one on my Sunday for 3 years now with no problems. They work good too. It's hooked up to an Ultegra short cage. ttyl, Fahn
