My passion lately has been doing charity work for the United Way, getting wasted on expensive wine and having monstrous hangovers. Oh yeah, and trying to think hard thoughts about that upcoming trail planning session [hint hint - you and Hiz should really contribute something].

I'm going to go out on Thursday or Friday and help decide some trail stuff on Tom Snow. I'll try and grab some photos then.

I saw your post on CMBA - thanks for that. I wish I could ride during the day, but it's evenings and weekends for me. I'm heading out to meet our trail crew on Friday, but I don't know if I'll have time to do much else besides ride for 5 minutes, point at stuff for 20, ride for 5, point for 20...

Looks like Volcano trail around threepoint...

We did that a while back still doing the Wed after work rides, have to start about 5:00 to get in two hours though...

Still hope to get in rickerts pass depends on snow though.

No ford on the volcano side, but I recognize threepoint canyon...I'm guessing quirk to wildhorse.

oh, and 2 Q's for the riders:
- Ferday, how you liking the rigid drop bar SS? (I figured you'd have put your other bars back on by now)
- Hizz, how long you in town for? If it was just for the day, when you finished working out in the field?

the drop bars are shockingly comfortable with the rigid, and suitably scary on steeper descents. they will probably earn a place on the bike each season for a bit anyways.

was back in town for a week but now back out on the road for another 2-3 weeks and then I should be done, and start some winter riding.

You gonna be in town for the 18th? It's the yearly b-day bike ride, and since it's a Sunday I'm thinking of doing Minni (as long as the conditions mostly hold out).

30 years = 30 km minimum...

Good to know there is no snow there!

Myself and Lee P went to ride Powderface creek last Sunday. We started off from the parking lot but as it was an early start there was a bit too much ice. So we headed to the station flats carpark and decided to see what the Sulphar loop was like..... it wasn't too bad and should be fine for this weekend.

pics to follow.

Riding in shorts in the snow. You know you're in Canada when...

If you missed the note on PB, the New Tom Snow trail is open for business. You now have two routes [and many potential combos] to get from Moosepackers to Station Flats. If you do go out there, the CMBA builders are still doing some cleanup on various sections, so keep an eye out for them.

baldy was zen. ok, the climb sucked with knee deep drifting everywhere, but the descent was pure bliss.
